Hey guys…Our old compatriot, Lonnie Mann III, will be joining us for shifts one weekend a month, Friday thru Sunday, starting September 14th, and then the first weekend of each month, after that.

As you all know, weekends here at Iron Age are walk-in only…but…please feel free to come in and request Lonnie.

Who knows…if there is enough demand, perhaps he can set aside an appointment day(s), in the near future!

Well folks…that’s another crazy ‘Friday The 13th’ behind us…

300 or so, of you crazies, joined us last Friday…160, or so, stuck around long enough and managed to get tattooed with 200+ ‘FridayThe 13th’ jammers.

As always, it was hot, it was chaotic…it was a mad rush.

In the end, we hope you had fun.

There were, however, the usual post-event complaints…and, frankly, it’s getting to be a bit of a pain.

So…next time (NOT UNTIL SETEMBER 13th 2019!), we are looking at (2) options:

1. We simply cancel the event.  We are really the last large/reputable shop doing these, in St. Louis…there’s a reason for that.

2. We create a new system.  My first thought is that we open the event only to regular customers of Iron Age…I’m thinking that we cap it at 150 participants, and you gain a spot by coming into Iron Age to get tattooed or pierced, sometime during the 65 days prior to the event (in this case from Monday July 8th, until Wednesday September 11th, 2019).  On the Thursday before we will compile the list and post and email it…the list will be randomized.  On Friday @noon…the 150 people come to the shop, perhaps in (3) waves.  Everyone on the list gets tattooed, and they only have a 3-4 hour window.

The final decision and details are TBD…stay tuned.

Another Friday The 13th is almost upon us…The madness ensues, just 9 days from now!!

As usual, we will reveal teasers of the flash sheet leading up to the day…As usual, the full sheet will only be available, in shop, on the day.

By now…most everyone is familiar with the drill…but, just in case:

-Special flash sheet of $13 tattoos…PLUS a lucky $7 tip (i.e. $20).

–Cash only.

-First come, first served…we tattoo until we drop.

-People start lining up ~9am.

-You can get (2) designs…anymore than that is at the individual artist’s discretion.

-You will wait for hours, unless you are at the beginning of the line…it’s just the way it is…it’s all part of the mayhem that is ‘Friday The 13th’.

–Everyone here works hard to bring you this special day…be respectful…be kind…have fun.

Well, tomorrow, June 21st, is the official start of summer…Of course, you wouldn’t know it here in the STL, as it has been “summer hot” for weeks!

‘Tis the season for shorts and summer dresses…tank tops and bikinis…Everyone wants to show off their tattoo or get a fresh new one to start the summer off right!!

We truly love giving you bright new tattoos, and we love seeing your well-healed older tattoos…As always, you need to plan accordingly, based on summer plans (i.e. swimming) AND you need to treat your tattoos (new and old) well…always keep them sun-blocked and moisturized.

Summer is also the time when tattoo artists, like all people, tend to travel…so…if you’re planning an appointment soon, touch bases with your favorite Iron Age artist, check their schedule, and set something up.

We look forward to seeing you soon…friends old or new…locals or visitors to our fine city.

Well…Another crazy Friday The 13th is behind us.

As the popularity of the day continues to grow, our ability to serve as many of you as possible diminishes.

We tattooed one of our lowest overall number of GUESTS…but…probably, our greatest number of 13th TATTOOS, ever!

We ended up welcoming just 158 clients into our chairs…but…we undertook 300+ tattoos.

As the next Friday The 13th approaches on July 13th, we are going to consider new ideas and methods to control the flow of people, and hopefully make it more equitable for everyone.

Another ‘Friday the 13th’ is upon us, this Friday…April 13th…2018!

As a continued service, AND a big thanks, to our awesome clients, we will be offering our legendary $13 tattoos (+ a lucky $7 tip!)!!   Cash only, please.

As usual, the designs will be from a designated flash sheet…That sheet will ONLY be revealed in shop, on Friday.

The designs can only be placed on arms and legs…any other special requests are at the discretion of the individual artist.

The designs can only be tattooed as drawn…again…any special changes are at the discretion of the individual artist.

It would also be noted that full-size tattoo walk-in service AND full-service piercings are 100% available, as usual, from noon-10pm.

People tend to line up early, and the event does get packed…so…please keep this in mind and plan accordingly…We will tattoo, all day, until we drop…usually after 10pm…and usually after 200+ people.

From 1999-2004 we ran a print ad campaign (remember those?) highlighting our customers…our wonderful, and highly diverse, customers…young & old…black & white…city & county…friends both old & new!

‘I AM IRON AGE’

We have decided to resurrect this campaign, in a way.

Any customers that would like to participate simply have to come in, get a tattoo or piercing, and let us know they want to enter their ‘I AM IRON AGE’ information, and the front staff will get you started.

Once a week we will randomly choose (digital lottery) a winner, and that person will receive a $100 gift card and their photo/entry will be posted to our social media accounts.

The campaign will run Wednesday to Tuesday…Each Wednesday at opening we will post the new ‘I AM IRON AGE’ face for the week.

Will will begin accepting entries this week, and the first winner will be announced on Wednesday 3/29/18.
